The newly developed National Sports Academy Sadak Atu in Astana is a multifunctional sports facility designed to promote athletic engagement and community integration. Located on a 2-hectare site, the structure includes one underground floor and two above-ground levels, comprising 7,132㎡ of underground parking and support facilities, and 9,978㎡ of above-ground sports and spectator spaces. It offers a training environment that fuses traditional sports with cutting-edge technology and delivers a distinctive experience through optimized spatial design for both athletes and spectators. Sadak Atu is designed as a versatile arena that accommodates various sports activities and reflects the local culture. At its core are an indoor stadium that supports basketball, volleyball, and futsal, and an outdoor stadium dedicated to the traditional sport of Sadak Atu. Innovative features like VR training centers enhance athletic performance. Wide plazas, pilotis, and panoramic stands are arranged to offer a dynamic and immersive viewing experience for spectators.

The project ensures efficient and safe space usage through clearly separated circulation paths for spectators, athletes, staff, and VIPs. The expansive front plaza and pilotis allow easy spectator access to the arena. The first floor is allocated for operations and athlete spaces, while the second floor includes a spacious concourse and food court for spectators. The VIP rooms offer independent access and simultaneous views of both indoor and outdoor arenas, with mobile stands enabling flexible seating arrangements. Sadak Atu functions as more than just a sports facility—it is a community space shared by residents and visitors alike. The front plaza serves as a welcoming rest area for local residents, while the outdoor Sadak Atu field offers diverse viewing experiences through second-floor outdoor stands and panoramic seating. This architecturally striking structure, which stands out even at night, is set to become a new landmark in Astana—symbolizing the fusion of sports and culture.
