This apartment complex is located on a distinctive "island-like" site accessible from only one side, with a 10-meter elevation difference between the access road and the complex. While excavation and retaining wall costs were minimized for economic efficiency, the site posed considerable architectural challenges. Within this confined land, the design had to satisfy the required number of housing units while ensuring access for emergency vehicles—demanding a bold and creative approach to planning an apartment complex on an isolated terrain. Despite these challenges, the small scale of the complex brings unique charm. An independent, enclosed “courtyard” separated from the surroundings offers residents a private space rarely found in apartment living. This shared courtyard serves as a gathering spot for the small community, providing residents with a sense of belonging and a unique daily experience.
