Kia Motors Kazakhstan new plant establishment
Kia Motors is expanding its global production network by establishing a new complete vehicle factory in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan with an annual capacity of 70,000 units. This plant, with an investment of 200 million USD (approximately 267 billion KRW), is scheduled to begin full-scale production in the second quarter of 2025.
This plant is a strategic choice to compensate for production gaps in Russia and to strengthen competitiveness in the Russian and CIS regional markets. It plans to maximize efficiency and quality by introducing 70 robots in advanced welding, painting, and assembly lines.
Located in the northwest Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, construction of the plant started in October 2024. Through this plant, Kia Motors aims to solidify its position in the global market and accelerate its entry into the Kazakhstan market.
The Kazakhstan government welcomes Kia Motors' investment and expects it to contribute significantly to regional economic development and job creation. This plant will play a key role in Kia Motors' global growth strategy.
