Alatau Smart Town, Gate District
A future-ready hub connecting Eurasia through innovation, transit, and sustainable urban living
This project delivers a sustainable, investment-driven smart town masterplan for the Alatau New City, building on Korea’s advanced smart city expertise. Located within the strategic Gate District near Almaty, the development leverages its position as a gateway on the New Silk Road, maximizing regional connectivity and Special Economic Zone (SEZ) advantages.
Going beyond a conventional masterplan, the project establishes a practical and scalable business model to attract investment and enable implementation through public-private partnerships (PPP). The plan integrates transit-oriented development (TOD), smart infrastructure, and eco-friendly solutions to create a high-density, mixed-use urban environment centered on livability and connectivity.
The proposal introduces a phased development strategy, including two neighborhood clusters structured around a 600-meter walkable radius, a transit hub anchored by LRT, and an interconnected circulation system linking key urban functions. It also incorporates green buffers, resilient infrastructure systems, and data-driven urban management aligned with carbon neutrality goals.
Grounded in in-depth market research and policy analysis, and supported by collaboration with leading local and international experts, the masterplan ensures financial feasibility, investment readiness, and long-term sustainability. As a pilot model for K-Smart City development, the project envisions Alatau as a future-ready, self-sufficient urban hub—where innovation, lifestyle, and economic vitality converge to shape a new benchmark for smart city development in Central Asia.
